Deliver Us From Evil

Another way to read this might be 'Do not let us fail the test. Deliver us from the evil one and the plans he has for our lives.'

The evil one is the Devil.

But the Bible says, "For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil"  1 John 3:8.

Jesus has come for the purpose of delivering us from the evil one and his works.

Evil is the lack of good.

Prosperity is a good thing, but poverty is and evil thing because it is a lack of resources.

Health is a good thing, but sickness is an evil thing because it is a lack of wholeness.

The devil is the evil one because he comes to take away that which is good.

Jesus said, "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly"  John 10:10

The devil comes to steal our health, take our lives and destroy our well-being.

But Jesus has come to destroy the works of the devil and give us life that goes beyond all boundaries.
