The work of the Holy Spirit is to sow seed
and brood over it within our spirits.
The life of faith comes from that seed,
believing what God has said in His Word.
That's why the man in Psalm 1 is such a
blessed man.
He constantly meditates on the Word of God,
believing the promises and receiving their
benefits.
Many people meditate on the lies of the devil.
That is what worry is all about.
Faith comes by constantly hearing the Word
of God; worry comes by constantly hearing
the lies and accusations of the devil.
The Word of God is a seed and faith is a seed.
But it isn't enough just to have them.
We must plant them.
The way we plant them is by speaking them.
Jesus teaches us that we can speak to the
mulberry tree and the mountains and they
will obey us. He spoke to a fig tree, rebuking
it and it withered from the roots in Mark 11.
Many people speak out all their worries and
fears.
They are always talking about their problems
and how things are getting worse.
But nothing gets solved by worrying, it will
certainly never get them anywhere with God.
