"And Moses built an altar and called its name, The LORD is My Banner."
Exodus 17:15
Moses built an altar of thanksgiving after the Lord gave victory to the children of Israel over the Amalakites.
He called it Yahweh Nissi, for the Lord is a banner of victory and truth, a rallying place for His people.
David said, "You have given a banner to those who fear You, that it may be displayed because of the truth" Psalm 60:4.
When the LORD is our banner, victory is assured.
Paul said, "If God be for us, who can be against us?"
Romans 8:31.
"In all these things, we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us".

"Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ".

In Song of Solomon 2:4, the banner is a symbol of intimacy between the LORD and His bride.
"He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner of me was love".
"God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son" John 3:16
Jesus is not only our victory banner, He is the banner of God's love over us.
